Wasserkarte.info provides an online application which supports firebrigades in generating maps that show the exact location of fire hydrants, ponds etc.
The users can enter firefighting related information (e.g. how much water does this hydrant supply, can we use this pond also in winter, … ) and then PDF datasheets and overview maps are created. These datasheets can be downloaded and printed out. As a consequence the firefighters can help more effectively and hence everyone benefits from this service. Currently the service is available in German but an English version is in development.
